Often, a simple implementation is due to a simple model. And a simple
model is often easier for users to understand. The main problem with
the block=cursor model is that it is constrained to a single block.
Another concern is that block=cursor is very similar to the user
pressing DELETE before every key press... an unusual and inherently
dangerous model, even if simple.
